The pergola is an architectural form known since ancient Egypt. Despite its historical roots, it perfectly fits the needs of high-level modern architecture.

Pergola – A Hybrid of Open and Closed Spac

The 21st century has taught us to combine seemingly contradictory elements. "Work-life balance" allows us to merge private life with work, which has developed a "hybrid" nature for many people, enabling remote work from home. Similarly, a pergola is a kind of hybrid. It is a space that is both open and closed. It can be part of a building, yet physically separated, relating to the building only in form or color.

A cohesive connection to a building's architecture is achieved by matching the pergola's color to the window frames. The Aluprof MB-OPENSKY 120 pergola is available in 12 RAL colors, allowing for seamless adaptation to the facade’s appearance.

When designing the pergola, it was very important for us that it could harmoniously integrate with its surroundings. We placed a strong emphasis not only on the stability and comfort of the structure but also on its aesthetic qualities. The connections between profiles are practically invisible, and all additional elements are designed so that the whole looks like one unified structure that relates to the building, explains Tomáš Buček, project manager at Aluprof System Czech s.r.o.

Modern Terrace Pergolas

The use of aluminum has enabled the creation of pergolas that serve users not only during the summer but throughout the year, regardless of the weather. A roof made of movable louvers, which can change their angle from 0 to 135° and are fitted with sealing gaskets, allows enjoyment of the space even on a rainy day.

The use of side screens provides protection against wind and rain, and when not needed, they can simply be folded or slid away. The icing on the cake includes built-in lighting systems or the ability to extend the building's structure with a wall-mounted pergola equipped with a console that allows for wall insulation.

Aluminum pergolas also represent a nod to ecology, which is gaining increasing attention in construction, and conscious customers appreciate it more and more. Aluminum is a fully recyclable material that is utilized in the circular economy.

Even More Light – The Minimalist Luxury of Panoramic Glazing

The market is witnessing a growing demand for structural elements that provide better access to natural light indoors. Panoramic windows and doors have become synonymous with modern and luxurious architectural solutions in recent years.

An example of such a solution is the MB-Skyline Type-R sliding doors, which have recently introduced two new features: a minimalist handle (available one-sided, double-sided, with or without a lock) and a static mullion (which can be used to create fixed sections in two-pane windows). These enhancements allow for an even more modern and aesthetically pleasing effect. Both solutions enable the creation of glass, ultra-minimalist facades with movable doors.
