First of all, ecology: certification of buildings in Poland

Administrator

The 19th century old capitalism model strived for profits at all costs. Within this model, the entrepreneur had no respect for social and environmental costs whatsoever. Thankfully today, after more than 100 years of experience, political and economic transformations, we all universally agree on one thing: those who generate profits and create work places should share the responsibility for the common good: on a local and global scale. The Aluprof brand made this concept a heart and soul of its long-term strategy.

First of all, building certificate

The thing that until recently was a topic of guesswork, research and doubts – greenhouse effect – started to condition not only the state or corporate planning but also the planning of private persons worldwide. Low emission postulates, decreasing carbon footprint and gaining climate neutrality have become  so much more than just a domain of ecological organization rhetoric. They started to impact the producers of goods and suppliers of services. Nowadays, in the age of conscious ecological customers only materials, goods and services that are climate-friendly have the potential to boost markets. And ecological certificates and licenses have turned into unique passports allowing to reach market success.

Developers want to sell eco-friendly apartments since more and more investors are interested in the issues involving environment protection. Owners of office buildings appreciate these certificates as they attract lessees with an ethical approach to business. So what differentiates an eco-friendly apartment from a standard one? How does low-emission office differ from the regular office? In commercial spaces  – a certificate which confirms the parameters and standards. In the real world of construction sites  – a quality and usable parameters of materials. Ecological, low-emission building is a building that was built with the use of ecological, low-emission technologies.

According to the latest, sixth report “Certification of green buildings in numbers” of the Polish Association of Ecological Construction PLGBC it is clear that the ecological awareness among investors continues to grow: year by year, 20% more certified buildings are handed over for use. In 2020, the total area of such buildings exceeded 23 million m2. The so far long-standing leader of this summary were office buildings but last year they were beaten by the storage-warehousing industry. Even though, however, last year alone 86 new certified warehouse-storage buildings were reported in comparison to 74 office buildings, the later ones continue to be in the winning position, remaining at the high level of 42% of the total eco-friendly space. An increase by as much as 107% in case of residential areas is indeed an amazing score. Notwithstanding the fact that it constitutes a mere 2% of the global sale, the tendency reveals the true attitudes of investors. What so far has been enforced by standards and guidelines towards companies finally finds, as may be noticed, its reflection in the habits and preferences of those who build “for themselves”.

First of all, low emission

Coal footprint in aluminium joinery and construction differs rather positively due to several reasons from other materials: aluminium ores are obtained through an open-cast mining, one doesn't need to build and exploit large furnaces for their processing. Ready-made aluminium profiles are light, thus, easy to transport and assemble. The thermal transmittance parameters of windows equipped with aluminium profiles are far better than any other known technology. For these reasons all those who care for ecology became friends of aluminium a long time ago. It also became a foundation of the market success of modern suppliers of aluminium solutions such as Aluprof. And their constant drive to improve production and processing technology.

Regardless of the fact that aluminium “by definition”  requires less energy when it comes to the extraction and processing of ores, production, transport and assembly of aluminium elements and the ready-made construction are uniquely energy-efficient, Aluprof goes a step further. In case of Aluprof, the calculated carbon dioxide emission, in calculation into a tonne of goods, reaches a very low parameter: 2.79 tCO2e for low-emission infusions in the plant in Kęty from LOW CARBON KĘTY line. For comparison, the production of 1 tonne of primary aluminium worldwide normally involves the emission of 16.7 tCO2 e, thus being almost six times higher.

First of all, recycling

Low emission was managed to be achieved also thanks to the application of recycled raw materials - recycled aluminium scrap at an average level of 65%. It makes no difference that aluminium is the fourth most frequently occurring element in the environment. Thanks to adequate waste management policy it is the most frequently and most effectively obtained secondary raw material as well. This stems, among other things, from the fact that aluminium scrap demand is stable and growing. Large market players such as Aluprof, through their continuously increasing demand for raw materials, guarantee its high price and thus  – an almost lossless recycling system.

First of all,  system certificate

The above-noted advantages in the fight for better and more ecological tomorrow lead everyone wishing to build in modern and thus, ecological style towards the solutions of Aluprof. Using its products facilitates obtaining certificates and attestations of “green construction”, much appreciated by both investors and lessees. BREEAM, LEED, DGNB or Well. The range of energy-efficiency and passive products within the company's offer continues to expand – assumed an increase of the share of company solutions in objects possessing BREEAM certificates or LEED certificates by 20% until 2025. And even today, in Poland, a substantial percentage of certified buildings appeared thanks to the Aluprof systems.
